Canadian Big Band with guest vocalists Sonja Gustafson and Ethan Salmon, and Aria 21

Get your dancing shoes on and let the Canadian Big Band, Sonja and Ethan take you back to the era of the Big Bands, performing some of the most cherished music of all time. Also joining the Canadian Big Band for a special performance is Aria 21, performing four top-hits of the Andrew’s Sisters.

Big Band music began in the 20s and lasted through to the end of World War II as the popular music of the day. Big Band music continues to play an important role in the current music scene with the likes of Michael Buble, Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga and Diana Krall as they sing the beautiful songs of the American and Canadian Songbook.

Sonja Gustafson
"Sonja is an uncommonly versatile performer..." Whether crooning jazz standards with her band, singing with the symphony or performing on the operatic stage, Sonja's passion for music is evident in her presence and attitude. It is this passion coupled with her consummate musicianship, sparkling voice and versatility that make her a performer to remember and enjoy!
Ethan Salmon
Vocalist Ethan Salmon was born and raised in Saugeen Shores. Having lived out west for a couple of years, Ethan is making his third return as a crooner at the Canadian Big Band Celebration. His rich, mellow voice and his stage presence exude a sense of maturity beyond his years.
Aria 21
Classical Ensemble Aria 21 is comprised of Pianist Christina Edwards and Vocalists Meghan De Jager and Liz Coates. All three performers are post-secondary graduates of Classical Music programs who have found their homes along Lake Huron.
